Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore is now preparing to contest the Bankipur assembly by-election. Meanwhile, the Jan Suraj Party has released a ‘C-7’ form, which reveals that there are eight cases registered against Prashant Kishor under 31 different sections of the law; However, he has not been convicted in any case.

If convicted, he could have faced up to seven years in prison; But no charges have been formally filed against him, and therefore, there have been no convictions. Now that he is in the electoral fray, questions are being raised: If he is convicted in any of these cases, will he have to spend seven years in jail? Meanwhile, discussions have intensified regarding his decision to contest the elections.

**Where are the cases registered against Prashant Kishore**

Cases are registered against Prashant Kishor in Bettiah, Patna, Gandhi Maidan, Muzaffarpur, Pirbahor, Saharsa and Secretariat police station areas. One of these cases was registered in 2024, while the remaining cases were registered in 2025. These cases are related to protests on issues of public interest. Regarding the cases registered against him, Prashant Kishore has said that there is no moral turpitude involved in them.

It is worth noting that Prashant Kishore is the candidate of his party, Jan Suraj. Regarding his candidature, he said that he was selected on the basis of his organizational experience, leadership ability and the public support he received during his *Padayatra* (March).

On Monday, Jan Suraj Party founder and Bankipur assembly bypoll candidate Prashant Kishor accused BJP leader Nitin Naveen of “abandoning” the Bankipur constituency as soon as he got a chance to enter Parliament. By-election is being held for this seat after Nitin Naveen’s decision to leave the seat.
