Meanwhile, according to eyewitnesses, a group of unidentified people started shouting “Thief! Thief!” They raised slogans, threw deadly objects at the TMC MP and tried to physically attack him. Police have confirmed the incident, although no arrests have been made so far. Following the attack, TMC issued a statement saying, “Even after this deadly attack by BJP-backed goons, our National General Secretary did not back down. Instead, he stood strong with the family who is heartbroken by the unimaginable trauma inflicted by the alleged BJP-backed goons.”
