Vice President CP Radhakrishnan’s office wrote on social media, “I am deeply saddened by the demise of Major General B.C. Khanduri (Retd.), former Union Minister and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. In his demise, the country has lost a distinguished soldier, an able administrator and a statesman of exceptional integrity. His visionary contribution towards transforming India’s road infrastructure through the Golden Quadrilateral and National Highway Development Program will remain a milestone in the country’s development journey. I had the pleasure of meeting him during my visit to Dehradun; I fondly recall our association as former colleagues in the Lok Sabha. In this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt condolences to his family, his countless admirers and the people of Uttarakhand.

BC Khanduri ji, who served in the army for more than three decades, remained dedicated to the resolve of Nation First throughout his life.
