Thiruvananthapuram/Puducherry, March 21 (IANS). BJP on Saturday released its new list of candidates for the Kerala and Puducherry Assembly elections 2026. According to the press release issued by the party’s central office, 11 candidates have been fielded in Kerala and 9 in Puducherry.
BJP has announced the names of 11 candidates in the third list released for Kerala. In this list, tickets have been given to V. Ratheesh from Peerumed seat, Ravindranath Vakathanam from Puthuppalli, Azeemon from Mavelikkara (SC) and Pandalam Prathapan from Adoor (SC).
Apart from this, KR Rajesh from Chavara, RS Arun Raj from Chadayamangalam, BS Anup from Chirayinkeezhu (SC) have been made candidates. BJP has also fielded its candidates on the seats of the capital region. Karamana Jayan from Thiruvananthapuram, Vivek Gopan from Aruvikkara, TN Suresh from Kovalam and S Rajasekharan Nair from Neyyattinkara have been given tickets.
At the same time, BJP has also released the list of candidates for Puducherry Assembly elections. In this regard, the meeting of the Central Election Committee was held on 18 March 2026 under the chairmanship of party president Nitin Naveen. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior leaders also participated in this meeting.
In the list released for Puducherry, A. from Mannadipet. Namassivayam, E Theppanthan from Ossudu (SC), PML Kalyanasundaram from Kalapet and VP Ramalingam have been made candidates from Raj Bhavan seat.
Apart from this, A. from Mudaliarpet. Johnkumar, Emblem R from Manaveli. Selvam, GNS Rajasekaran from Tirunallar, TKSM Meenakshisundaram from Neeravi-TR Pattinam and A. Dinesh has been fielded in the election.
Elections are to be held in Kerala and Puducherry in a single phase on April 9. The counting of votes will be done on May 4 and the results of the election will be declared.
