BJP leader Ashok said, farmers are struggling with floods and Congress government is ‘missing’

Highlighting the plight of farmers affected by rains and floods in the Kalyana Karnataka region, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R Ashoka on Wednesday alleged that the Congress government in the state has “disappeared” instead of dealing with the situation.

Questioning Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s silence on the issue, he also targeted the party government and alleged that it was spending hundreds of crores of rupees on caste survey, while farmers were drowning in debt and despair.

“Farmers of Bhima Basin are devastated – Congress government has disappeared,” Ashok said in a post on X. Claiming that farmers are committing suicide, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that farmers doing farming on lease are not even eligible for compensation. He said, “Where is Rahul Gandhi, who lectures the country about justice and compassion? When the farmers of Karnataka cry for help, the Gandhi family and their “puppets” in Vidhana Soudha remain silent.
