New Delhi, June 12 (IANS). On June 12, 2025, 260 people, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, were killed in the plane crash in Ahmedabad. On the first death anniversary of Vijay Rupani, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and other BJP leaders have paid tribute.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote on X, “I pay my humble tribute to our friend late Vijay Rupani, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, former Chief Minister of Gujarat, on his death anniversary! Late Vijay Rupani ji was extremely intuitive, simple and rich in organizational ability. As a volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and a worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he had dedicated his entire life to the service of Maa Bharati. His commitment towards the development of Gujarat is an example. His work for public service and the progress of the nation and society. He will always be alive in our memories and hearts.”
Vijay Kumar Sinha, a minister in the Bihar government, posted on Twitter, “Heartfelt tribute to senior BJP leader, former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on his death anniversary.”
Bihar BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi wrote on Twitter, “Heartfelt tribute to former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani ji on his death anniversary. His dedication and service spirit will always be a source of inspiration for us.”
Former UP Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma wrote on Instagram, “An emotional tribute to senior BJP leader, former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani ji on his death anniversary.”
Kunwar Brijesh Singh, a minister in the UP government, posted on Instagram, “Heartfelt tribute to senior BJP leader and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani ji on his death anniversary.”
It is noteworthy that on June 12, 2025, Air India 171 flew from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to London Gatwick Airport in the United Kingdom. Shortly after takeoff, the plane crashed in Meghani Nagar area of Ahmedabad, killing 260 people.
