Congress on Monday termed BJP’s allegation of alleged threat against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in its public meeting as baseless and said that it is not its tradition to make indecent remarks against political opponents.
Party’s Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal also claimed that the ruling party wants to create a drama in Parliament by making such allegations.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday said Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi should apologize for the alleged “threats” given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Congress workers. BJP members created ruckus in both the houses of Parliament regarding this issue.
Congress leader Venugopal told reporters in the Parliament complex, “After the huge success of our rally, the BJP has done this drama, which is completely baseless.” This kind of enthusiasm in the rally has never been seen in the last many years. ”He said,” I want to ask BJP whether any Congress leader said anything? no way.
Lakhs of people participate in the rally…Using obscene and unacceptable words against political opponents is not our tradition.” Venugopal claimed, ”Everyone knows what Amit Shah ji used while speaking in the Lok Sabha, what he used against Saugata Roy ji. We don’t have such values.” He claimed that these people want to create drama in Parliament.
