New Delhi, January 12 (IANS). Congress leader Danish Ali expressed his views on the statement related to the activation of forces opposing the reconstruction of Somnath. The Congress leader said that the only work of BJP is to divide the people.
Speaking to IANS, the Congress leader said that one should ask where were the Sangh, Jan Sangh or BJP when the Somnath temple was rebuilt. At that time Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the Prime Minister, Sardar Patel was the Home Minister, both were Congress leaders and Maulana Azad was the Education Minister. At that time their organizations did not even exist. Still such baseless statements are being made.
Referring to India becoming a world leader, the Congress leader said that Dalits are being killed every day, and cases of rape against Dalits are increasing. Minorities are being lynched here. Bangladesh was separated from Pakistan during the time of Indira Gandhi. Today the situation is such that he too is eyeing India. Where is your foreign policy? The President of America insults you every day. He is insulting not only the Prime Minister but the 140 crore people of the country. You talk about becoming a world leader. Look where you have brought the country. As far as Sangha is concerned, his habit is to talk about different things at different times – one thing in the morning, something else in the afternoon, something else in the evening, and something else before sleeping. First they must clarify their thinking – what they really want, where they want to take this country, and what kind of country they want to build.
On the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Congress leader said that I am surprised that such statements come from his side. Political parties made a lot of sacrifices for India’s independence, it is not right to call them anti-national forces. This is unfortunate for the country. In Kerala, where minorities, including Christian and Muslim minorities, form a large part of the population, they are being termed as anti-national forces. Independence was achieved with great difficulty and after a great struggle. The fabric of this country was woven, sitting on such a position, they are working to break it every day, the people of the country will never forgive.
