Darjeeling, January 9 (IANS). West Bengal BJP president and MP Samik Bhattacharya reacted to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s protest. He said that Mamata Banerjee has done such protests before and this time also she will not get any political benefit from it.
Samik Bhattacharya said, “The people of West Bengal had adopted Mamata Banerjee and tested her, but now the people are going to abandon her.”
He claimed that the people in the state have lost confidence in the Trinamool Congress government and its impact will be clearly visible in the times to come.
Regarding the protest, he said that the entire country is watching this development. What will happen by protesting? This is a democratic system and people have the right to protest, so let them protest. Along with this, he made serious allegations against Trinamool Congress.
The BJP state president said that the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal has been using the police and CID in such situations. Therefore, now Trinamool Congress is thinking that ED and CBI are being used all over India in the same way as the state government does in West Bengal.
Samik Bhattacharya also raised questions on the law and order and constitutional position of the state.
He said, “There is nothing called Constitution left in West Bengal. The constitutional system here has completely broken down.” He alleged that the state government is continuously disregarding the federal structure of the country.
On one hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is trying to put pressure on the Central Government through protests, while on the other hand, BJP is calling it a political drama and accusing the state government of weakening the Constitution and democracy.
