Chhattisgarh government transferred three IAS officers to important administrative posts

छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार ने तीन आईएएस अधिकारियों का महत्वपूर्ण प्रशासनिक पदों पर तबादला किया

Raipur, January 21 (IANS). Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday carried out administrative changes by issuing transfer orders of three IAS officers. These officers have been transferred to important roles in education, urban development and district administration.

In this sequence, 2009 batch IAS officer Kiran Kaushal has been appointed Commissioner of the state’s comprehensive education program Samagra Shiksha.

In addition to this primary post, he has also been given the additional charge of Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation.

Emphasizing the importance of this step, the Government has announced that on assumption of charge as Commissioner of Holistic Education, this non-cadre post will be upgraded to a cadre post equivalent to the senior pay scale of the Indian Administrative Service in terms of pay, prestige and responsibility as per Rule 12 of the IAS (Pay) Rules, 2016.

In this sequence, 2009 batch IAS officer Avnish Kumar Sharan has been given expanded responsibilities in urban planning and administration.

Avnish Kumar Sharan, who was working as Town and Country Planning Commissioner and holding the additional charge of Commissioner of Housing Board, has now been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Raipur Development Authority.

Meanwhile, an important appointment has taken place in the sensitive Bastar region, with 2017 batch IAS officer Akash Chhikara taking charge as Collector of Bastar district. Before this transfer, he was posted as Joint Secretary in the Housing and Environment Department, and was also holding the responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer, Raipur Development Authority and Additional Chief Executive Officer, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Authority.

His deployment in Bastar district, known for administrative and security complexities, is being considered an important decision towards strengthening governance in one of the most strategically important regions of Chhattisgarh.
