Congress accuses Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann of collusion, BJP hits back

Chandigarh, April 28 (IANS). Punjab Congress spokesperson Amit Bawa Saini on Tuesday launched a verbal attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, alleging that he works as per the convenience of the BJP. However, BJP rejected these allegations.

Speaking to news agency IANS, Saini said, “Punjab Congress has been saying this for a very long time. This is not a new claim about Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. If you look at many of his actions, whether it is Amritpal Singh’s safe exit from Punjab, or many other things, he works as per the convenience of the BJP.”

He further said that when he (CM Mann) needs to be praised in Punjab, he abuses the BJP, but never takes any stand against the BJP or the Central Government on the issues of the state. Saini also alleged that the Punjab Chief Minister takes stands as per the wishes of the BJP, where the party benefits.

Further, he said that Punjab Congress has been saying that he (Mann) can join BJP anytime, it depends on when it is convenient for BJP.

Reacting sharply to Saini’s statement, Punjab BJP Vice President Fateh Jung Bajwa said that this is the Congress party’s own thinking. They will keep making such statements because they have nothing else to say. Congress is a divided party. He should talk about his party instead of worrying about others.

Bajwa denied allegations that the BJP was trying to bring along Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said that BJP has no such intention of bringing AAP into the party. Our party has no policy to bring such people into the party. We will contest elections on our own.
