New Delhi, May 23 (IANS). After Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, Congress Party has taken a big step. The party has constituted a fact-finding committee to investigate alleged anti-party activities and irregularities during the elections.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee shared information in this regard through ‘X’ post.
This committee has been formed after the approval of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. In a press note issued by All India Congress Committee (AICC) Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in-charge Girish Chodankar, it was said that the committee has been given the responsibility to investigate all the complaints related to anti-party activities that came to light during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026.
The committee will hold talks with concerned parties and leaders and submit its investigation report, findings and recommendations to the Congress leadership within 60 days.
Senior Congress leaders have been included in this five-member fact-finding committee. Former MP and former AICC Secretary Dr. K. Jayakumar has been made the chairman of the committee. Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Vice President Hidayatullah has been given the responsibility of convener.
Apart from this, TNCC Vice President Swarna Sethuraman, former AICC Secretary and senior Congress leader CD Meiyappan and AIMC National Secretary Kamalakshi Kamaraj have been made members of the committee.
The Congress party said in its statement that it is fully committed to maintaining discipline, accountability and organizational integrity within the organization. The party leadership believes that transparency and discipline at every level is very important to keep the organization strong.
