New Delhi, May 4 (IANS). Union Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Monday that Congress has no existence in the country; It has survived only in Kerala. He also said that Congress will face a similar situation in Karnataka in the coming elections.
Addressing a press conference on the assembly election results of five states, Joshi said that the results are a clear mandate of the public against bad governance, excessive appeasement, corruption and hooliganism and a strong endorsement of the functioning of the BJP-NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said the NDA has achieved historic victories in Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry, and termed it a result of Prime Minister Modi’s 12 years of effective governance.
Union Minister Joshi claimed that Congress as a national party is now almost nil in the country and its presence has ended in most of the states except Kerala.
He also mentioned Congress’s poor performance in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu and said that some success in Assam does not change its position.
He alleged that the public has completely rejected Congress’s appeasement, corruption and vote bank politics.
Criticizing the political strategy of Congress, Joshi said that Congress leaders in Tamil Nadu were talking about an alliance with actor Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, which clearly shows that the party has very little political space left.
He also alleged that Congress’s coalition politics and attitude in Kerala has weakened its position in the entire country.
He said that the Congress’s continuous criticism and personal attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi have backfired.
Joshi said that Congress used derogatory language against the popular Prime Minister, but the public has given a befitting reply to it.
Speaking on the West Bengal election results, he alleged that earlier people were afraid to vote because of the law and order situation, but this time people voted because of the strict system.
He thanked the voters and said that they voted by standing up against hooliganism.
Commenting on the Karnataka by-election results, he said that the Congress government in the state is full of corruption, bad governance and appeasement and the public will oust it from power in the coming assembly elections.
