New Delhi, January 13 (IANS). BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala objected to the statement given by Congress MLC Bomma Mahesh Kumar Gaur on Sanatan Dharma. He said that today the identity of Congress has become that of ‘anti-Sanatan’.
Shahzad Poonawala, while talking to news agency IANS on Tuesday, said that Congress runs a vote bank shop. Congress always insulting Hindus is not a coincidence, but a thought experiment.
The BJP spokesperson said that earlier senior Congress leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar and Revanth Reddy had insulted Hindus. Crossing all limits, these people sometimes described Lord Ram as imaginary and sometimes used words like Hindu terrorism. These people are not concerned with the interests of the Hindu community.
Shahzad Poonawala said that from all these incidents it becomes clear that Congress has only one system. Abuse Hindus so that you can get the vote bank. In such a situation, my direct question is to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will he take action against such leaders present in his party? The answer is clearly that they will not do this at all. On the contrary, they themselves will go one step further and insult the faith of Hindus, but now such a situation will not be accepted in the country under any circumstances.
The BJP spokesperson also took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Ram temple in Ayodhya. He said that what could be better than this that people who till yesterday were calling Lord Ram imaginary, are getting ready to go to Ram temple today. Certainly the credit for this goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Shahzad Poonawala said, I would like to tell Rahul Gandhi to apologize for the way his party had described Lord Ram as imaginary. Not only this, Pandit Nehru had protested from Somnath temple to Ayodhya. These people had done the work of hanging, blocking and diverting the Ram temple with the aim of gaining political advantage. For that, first apologize to the people of the country and then go to visit Ram temple. We will have no objection to this.
Apart from this, the BJP spokesperson also raised questions on the objections being raised regarding the Waqf Amendment Act. Shahzad Poonawala said that it cannot be forgotten that some people, suffering from political malice, had tried to mislead people regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act. He had misled people by saying that if the Citizenship Amendment Act was implemented, Muslims would lose their citizenship.
If you look at the situation today, no one has lost their citizenship. On the contrary, riots definitely happened. The only intention of these people is to create riots. They are not concerned with the interests of the people. Had it been so, their situation would not have been like this today. Now these same people are once again trying to mislead people regarding the Waqf Amendment Act. They are saying that this will lead to encroachment of cemeteries and mosques, whereas there is nothing like that. These people make unnecessary political lamentations. These are the same people who remain vocal about the atrocities on the Muslims of Gaza, while becoming silent about the atrocities on the Hindus of Dhaka.
He also termed Congress’s allegations as baseless that BJP changed the name of MNREGA due to political malice. BJP spokesperson said that we have not changed the name of any scheme, rather we brought a new bill in its place, whose name is Ji Ram Ji. If anyone truly changed the name of Mahatma Gandhi, it is Congress. Congress party leader Mr. Parmeshwar changed a stadium named after Mahatma Gandhi to his name. In such a situation, I have a simple question to him that is Mr. Parmeshwar a player that he named the stadium after himself?
Shahzad Poonawala said that if seen in the true sense, then the anti-Gandhi is no one else but Congress only. Many such occasions have come to light in the past, which clearly show that Congress has been opposed to Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi had said that we will bring Ram Rajya, but it is a matter of regret that the same Congress did not shy away from calling Lord Ram imaginary. What could be more tragic than this?
