Construction work of Babri Masjid in Bengal: Humayun Kabir said- People are free to practice their religion.

Kolkata, February 11 (IANS). People are arriving with bricks for the construction work of Babri Masjid in Beldanga in minority dominated Murshidabad district of West Bengal, which was planned by Janata Unnayan Party President and MLA Humayun Kabir.

A close aide of Kabir said that the program is starting on Wednesday between 12 noon to 1 pm. After this, the ‘Rally for Babri Masjid’ will start from Thursday. This rally will start from Palashi in Nadia district with 100 vehicles. Each vehicle will carry six people including the driver. Thus, a total of 600 people will participate in this rally.

This rally will cover a total distance of 265 kilometers from Palashi to Itahar in North Dinajpur district.

Explaining the need to organize the rally, Kabir said that since many selfish elements were spreading misinformation about the construction of Babri Masjid in Beldanga, the purpose of this rally was to inform people about this construction.

Speaking to news agency IANS, Janata Unnayan Party president Humayun Kabir said, “The construction work will be completed within three years. The construction of this structure will cost around Rs 55 crore. The height of the gate of the mosque will be 14 metres. Its width will be 5 metres. The estimated cost of construction of the gate alone will be around Rs 5 crore.”

He further informed that the foundation of this mosque was laid on December 6 last year. The construction of the Beldanga Mosque is inspired by the original mosque in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, which was demolished on 6 December 1992.

Humayun Kabir said that I will ask those who are protesting to move away. People are free to practice their religion and build temples, churches or whatever they want; I will not oppose anyone in the name of Islam. It’s not about imposing anything.”

Kabir, MLA from Bharatpur assembly constituency in Murshidabad district, was suspended from the Trinamool Congress just days before the foundation stone laying ceremony.

Meanwhile, Kabir had formed his own political party, Janata Unnayan Party, and called for an alliance of all anti-BJP and anti-Trinamool Congress parties for the state assembly elections to be held later this year. However, except for AIMIM founded by Asaduddin Owaisi, there has not been much progress in their alliance talks.
