New Delhi, June 4 (IANS). RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha has given a detailed explanation on the viral letter related to booking of Constitution Club for Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). He clearly said that he had only provided space for a press conference and not supported any movement or organization.
Manoj Jha said, “Regarding any incident whose ideology is not clearly defined, I am absolutely clear on this matter. Even during the 2012-13 movement, I had written that no comment should be made on such movements whose ideological framework is not clear.”
Explaining the background of the viral letter, he said, “You have seen my letter. If you read its contents, you will know that it includes a journalist with whom I was connected on social media, some of my senior colleagues from Delhi University too. At that time, I was in the hospital with my father. All I was told was that they had to organize a press conference. I usually do such work for some civil society group every second or third day.”
Manoj Jha further said that the letter clearly mentions the press conference. “I see many colleagues questioning my intentions without verifying the facts and without reading the real contents of the letter,” he said, blaming the media.
Manoj Jha also admitted that a positive outcome has emerged from this controversy. He said, “If anyone comes with a request for a place in the future, now I will investigate it properly.”
The RJD MP said, “My stand on this matter is very clear, I have already written about it. Unless the ideology of an organization is clearly decided, it is not right to comment about it in bits and pieces. As far as that political organization is concerned, our understanding about its ideology is still not clear.”
On expelled Trinamool Congress leader Ritabrata Banerjee becoming the leader of opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha said, “This is not just a crisis for the Trinamool Congress or West Bengal. This is a crisis for the democratic politics of the country. What happened to the two political parties in Maharashtra has been repeated in a more sophisticated form in West Bengal.”
