Senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi on Monday said that the ‘National Herald’ issue has been raised again to divert attention from the real issues, whereas there is no merit in this matter as there was no transaction of money or property.
He also sarcastically said that the Enforcement Directorate and the BJP should get the Nobel Prize for how a case of crime is created where no crime has been committed.
Senior advocate Singhvi told reporters, “The Modi government is doing threat politics to target Sonia Gandhi ji, Rahul Gandhi ji and the Congress party.” To divert the country’s attention from the ruin of the economy, spreading hatred in the country, unemployment, failed foreign policy, threats from America and China, the government is raising the issue of National Herald.
He said, “The National Herald case is the only example where a case of money laundering is being made without a single transaction or benefit of money. It should be counted among the wonders of the world.
According to Singhvi, ‘Associated Journals Limited’ (AJL), the ownership company of ‘National Herald’, is a very old company and it also stood against the British during the British era. He said, “It has been seen many times that institutions founded on idealism do not perform well economically. This is what happened with AJL. To maintain these ideals, Congress gave loans to AJL at different times, which at one time reached Rs 90 crore.
Singhvi said, “In such a situation, a decision was taken how to strengthen this company.” Therefore, it was necessary to make the company debt free. That is why his loan was converted into a share. Every company in the country does this work.
Senior advocate says that the shareholding of AJL came into the hands of an entity called ‘Young Indian’ and in this entire process neither any money transaction took place nor any property was taken or given. He said, “A charge sheet has already been filed in this case and it is pending in the special court at Rouse Avenue (Delhi). I had cross-examined on this issue that this charge sheet should be quashed, because it is written in the ED Act that only the department/unit which is government can file a complaint.
According to Singhvi, in this matter, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had gone to the court and complained on a personal level and after some time, this complaint was adjourned by the High Court. He said, “I have no doubt that this new FIR has been filed to correct this deficiency. Now this will be made the basis.
The Congress leader alleged that the BJP’s politics is to “wear out the opposition, embellish lies and make the agencies dance” and its new slogan is “no evidence, no logic, only targets”. Singhvi asked, “How will a building stand where there is no foundation?” When no crime has been committed then how will the case be made? ,
He stressed, “BJP should understand that if the voice (of the opposition) is suppressed then it will become louder. If you suppress the truth it will become more intense. We will neither bow down nor stop. Law will give answer to BJP, time will give and the public will give.
