Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission (EC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over ‘vote theft’ and claimed that the election guards were ‘awake’ to see ‘theft’ and save the thieves.
The Congress MP accused the BJP and the Election Commission of large -scale “tampering with voters” during the elections.
In a post on X, Gandhi alleged that millions of “voters” were removed from the voter list in a few seconds, and claimed that the election body deliberately “blindly turned the eyes” towards this wrongdoing.
Gandhi wrote on X, “Wake up at 4 in the morning, remove two voters in 36 seconds, then sleep and thus the vote was stolen. Election monitorers kept awake, watching theft, protecting the thieves.”

Meanwhile, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad claimed that he does not prepare before speaking and spreads lies.
The BJP leader criticized Rahul Gandhi for questioning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for allegedly removing the names of more than 6,000 voters in Aland, Karnataka.
He said that Gandhi had made allegations about the 2023 assembly elections, while Kumar was appointed Chief Election Commissioner in February 2025.
Addressing journalists, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “What has happened to Rahul Gandhi? How much he will lie? You are cheating democracy. I have also said earlier that Rahul Gandhi never does homework.”
On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi accused an attempt to remove more than 6000 votes in Aland, Karnataka.
He said, “There were 6018 votes in Aland, Karnataka, someone tried to erase these votes. We do not know how many votes were erased in the 2023 elections, but someone was caught.”
Rahul Gandhi said in a press conference, “Most of the crimes, it was caught by incidentally. It happened that the booth level officer saw that his uncle’s vote had been deleted. When he investigated, he found that his neighbor had deleted the vote.”
