‘Every girl’s dreams are precious’, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor’s message on women empowerment

Srinagar, July 6 (IANS). Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said he envisions a Jammu and Kashmir where every girl grows up believing that her dreams are valuable, her voice is strong and her future has unlimited possibilities.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor described these Fellows as symbols of the change taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, which is moving towards a future based on self-confidence, equal opportunities and respect for all.

He praised the efforts of women’s organizations, due to which a strong platform has been created. From this platform the ‘women power’ of the area can move forward with confidence. Can adopt its talent, ideas and identity and play an important role in building the bright future of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lieutenant Governor said, “By challenging deeply held stereotypes, these people have redefined what is possible. They have forged a new path for future generations and their contribution will serve as a source of inspiration, confidence and guidance for many years to come.”

He paid tribute to historical figures like Rani Didda, Kota Rani, Lal Ded, Habba Khatoon and Mata Rupa Bhavani, who shaped the consciousness of Jammu and Kashmir and contributed to its development. He emphasized that the women of Jammu and Kashmir have always touched the heights of ‘women power’.

“We have many such great examples before us and I want the women of Jammu and Kashmir to lead the development of the region,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for empowering the women of Jammu and Kashmir by giving them their due rights and eliminating discrimination.

She presented a progressive vision for the Union Territory under the leadership of women leaders. “Women empowerment is the key to a developed Jammu and Kashmir, their progress ensures the progress of the society. I envision a Jammu and Kashmir where women lead in education, industry, social organizations and governance, formulate policies, pursue entrepreneurship and enrich our culture through art and literature.”

The Lieutenant Governor said, “I envision a Jammu and Kashmir where every girl grows up believing that her dreams are valuable, her voice is powerful and her future has limitless possibilities.”

She urged us to remain steadfast in our resolve to give due respect to our ‘women power’ and also create an environment that promotes their capabilities and progress.

The Lieutenant Governor stressed the need to tackle the growing challenge of drug abuse among women. He advised the Fellows to conduct a detailed sector-specific analysis to find out the root causes.

He said that this study will greatly strengthen the rehabilitation framework and provide vital assistance to our daughters and sisters who are victims of drug addiction.

She also hoped that the dedication of all members of women’s organizations would bring positive changes in the lives of countless women in the years to come.
