New Delhi, July 24 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday appealed to activist Sonam Wangchuk to follow the advice of doctors and improve her health after ending her 26-day hunger strike.

This message of the Prime Minister was given to Union Minister J.P. Wangchuk in a private hospital. This came hours after Nadda and Jitendra Singh broke their fast in the presence of senior leaders of the apex body of Leh-Ladakh, doctors and family members.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Central Government has prepared a comprehensive draft bill with the aim of implementing strict provisions and stringent punishment for paper leak cases.
The proposal will be discussed in the Union Cabinet meeting on Friday and is expected to be introduced and passed in the ongoing session of Parliament next week.
At the same time, earlier in his X post on Thursday, the PM had said, “The interest of the youth of the country and their future is our top priority. In order to give strict punishment to the culprits in all the paper leak cases, a fast track court will be formed for speedy disposal of the cases. In this regard, instructions have been given that the concerned departments should ensure necessary action. This is an important step in the series of decisions being taken by the government to secure the interests of the students. With the future of the youth. Anyone who messes with things will not be spared.”
Wangchuk’s hunger strike attracted nationwide attention. Leaders of many political parties and civil society groups had appealed to him to end the fast. Wangchuk himself said that 65 members of Parliament had either met him or written letters to him asking him to end his fast, raising concerns about possible unrest.
