Formal invitation to President Draupadi Murmu to visit Ayodhya, expected to visit in March: Nripendra Mishra

राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु को अयोध्या आने का औपचारिक निमंत्रण, मार्च में यात्रा की उम्मीद: नृपेंद्र मिश्रा

Ayodhya, 30 January (IANS). Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra said on Friday that President Draupadi Murmu can come to Ayodhya in March to have darshan and worship of Lord Ram. Although there is no official confirmation yet, Mishra indicated that the President has informally given his consent for the visit.

Speaking to reporters, Nripendra Mishra said that members of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had recently met the President and extended a formal invitation to him to visit Ayodhya.

Nripendra Mishra said, “Trust members met the President and invited her to come to Ayodhya to have darshan of the Lord. We are hopeful that she will be able to fix a date in her schedule, perhaps in March. Although we have not received any formal information, but informally we have learned that she has agreed.”

Chairman of Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee said that he also gave information about the old manuscripts related to Ramayana, which will be kept in the temple premises.

Nripendra Mishra said that the Central Sanskrit University has gifted a rare 400-year-old manuscript to the Trust, in which Valmiki’s sayings are written in old Sanskrit script. This manuscript was earlier given to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, but after knowing that there would be a special place for the literature related to Ramayana on the second floor of the Ayodhya temple, the university decided to gift the manuscript forever on the request of the Trust.

He said the trust plans to preserve and protect the ancient Ramayana and Valmiki translations in different Indian languages at the temple complex, making it a major center of religious and cultural heritage.

The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple took place on January 22, 2024 in the presence of around 7,000 guests. Spiritual leaders, prominent business figures, sportspersons and film personalities attended the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the event, which received wide attention in the country and abroad.

He said that after the inauguration a huge crowd of devotees gathered in the temple. The next day of Pran Pratistha, around 3 lakh devotees reached the temple to have darshan of the newly installed idol of Ram Lalla, depicting the five-year old form of Lord Ram, while an equal number of people were waiting for their turn.
