New Delhi, March 7 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while virtually addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport on Saturday, said that today is a day of new hope and new achievement for the entire Hadoti region including Kota, Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar.
Prime Minister Modi said that this modern airport, which is going to be built at a cost of about Rs 1.5 thousand crore, is going to give a new impetus to the development of the entire region in the coming times. I extend my very best wishes to the people of Kota and the entire Hadoti region in this important program of laying the foundation stone of the airport.
Addressing the program, PM Modi said, “I remember that when I came to Kota in November 2023, I had made a promise to the public. I had said that Kota’s airport will not remain just a dream, but will be made a reality. Today I am happy that the moment has come when the construction work of Kota airport is going to start. Till now, the people of Kota had to go to Jaipur or Jodhpur and catch a flight. This also took a lot of time and was an inconvenience. Now this situation is going to change. When this airport opens, travel in the entire area including Kota will become easier and business will also increase rapidly.
PM Modi said that Kota is a big center not only of education but also of energy. Kota is a unique region where electricity is produced from all sources of energy, be it nuclear, coal based, gas and water. This land of Kota and Hadoti is also a big center of enterprise and faith. For centuries, devotees from all over the country and the world keep coming here to visit the holy shrine of Shri Mathuradhish ji, the pilgrimage of Keshavrai Patan, Khade Ganesh Ji Maharaj and Godavari Balaji Dham.
PM Modi said that Kota is progressing rapidly in the field of connectivity today. Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, both the major railway stations of Kota are being equipped with modern facilities. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is passing through Kota and Bundi, is opening new doors for development of the entire region.
The Prime Minister further said that now the distance of big cities like Delhi, Vadodara and Mumbai is only a few hours. Due to better road and rail connectivity, new industries are being established here. This area will become a big center especially for agriculture based industry. After rail and road, this new chapter of air connectivity will further accelerate the development of Kota. Kota Airport will bring new opportunities for progress for the entire Hadoti region and surrounding districts.
