Mumbai, July 24 (IANS). Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey targeted the central government over the NEET paper leak issue, students’ agitation and the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
He said that if any irregularity or anti-national activity is found in any movement then the police should take impartial action. The law should take its course and the culprits should be arrested, but on this pretext the peaceful and ongoing movement in the interest of the students should not be affected or defamed.
Anand Dubey said that the issue of NEET paper leak is not limited to Delhi only, but students in many states of the country including Bihar, Prayagraj and Maharashtra are agitating on this issue. This is a serious issue related to the future of the students and the government should seriously listen to their concerns.
Responding to the video message released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the NEET paper leak issue, Anand Dubey said that the Prime Minister’s response on this subject has come very late. He said that the Prime Minister in his message has talked about raising the issue of fast track courts in the cabinet.
Taking a dig at the central government, Anand Dubey said that there is a need to improve the country’s system. Incidents of paper leaks are not a new thing and such incidents have been coming to light from time to time, which point towards serious flaws in the system. The main demand of the students is that the examination system should be made transparent and reliable. He said that social activist Sonam Wangchuk has ended her fast, but the students’ demand still remains that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should resign from his post.
Anand Dubey said that the more delay there is on this issue, the more the country and the students will suffer. He demanded from the government that this issue should be discussed in detail in the Parliament and the matter should be resolved soon.
Anand Dubey said that Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray will take out a march from Shivtirtha to Siddhivinayak temple on July 26. He said that the purpose of this march is to wish for the safety of the students, their bright future and to get the country out of the current crisis soon.
He said that this rally is not for any particular political party, but is a mass movement against corruption in the examination system. Appealing to all the people to participate in it, he said that it is the right of the opposition and the public to demonstrate democratically, while it is the decision of the government to accept the demands or not.
