Government will launch 'Bharat Taxi', drivers will get full profit: Amit Shah

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said the government will soon launch ‘Bharat Taxi’ service, under which the profit will be shared with the drivers.

Addressing a cooperative conference in Panchkula, Shah said the initiative is aimed at improving customer convenience as well as increasing the earnings of drivers.

Amit Shah said, “Through the initiative of the Ministry of Cooperation, we will soon launch ‘Bharat Taxi’, the entire profit of which will go to the driver brothers. This will increase the convenience of the customers and will also increase the profit of the drivers.”

Highlighting Haryana’s contribution towards the nation, the Union Minister said that the state has played an important role in ensuring food security, promoting milk production and achieving excellence in sports.

He said Haryana has consistently contributed to the country’s food security and sports achievements, adding that the state’s farmers have made the country proud on many fronts.

Shah said, “Haryana has always contributed to the country’s food security and milk production and has showered medals for the country in the field of sports. No matter what the front, the farmers of Haryana have proudly hoisted the tricolor of India on every front.”

Shah praised both Haryana and Punjab for making India self-reliant in food grain production and gaining global recognition. Highlighting Haryana’s role in national security, Shah said that despite being a small state, it contributes the highest number of per capita troops to the Central Armed Police Forces and the three armed forces.

He said, “Haryana and Punjab have made the country self-reliant in food grains and earned respect in the world. Despite being a small state, the mothers of Haryana provide the highest number of soldiers in proportion to the population in the three armed forces (CAPFs) to protect the motherland. It is because of their bravery that the armies and armed forces of India have been able to successfully repel many invasions.”

The Home Minister emphasized that prosperity can be achieved by integrating animal husbandry, agriculture and cooperative systems, and said that collaboration between these sectors will drive economic growth.

He said, “If animal husbandry, agriculture and cooperative societies are merged together, prosperity can be created through cooperation.”

Shah also highlighted the increase in government spending under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said the agriculture budget increased from Rs 22,000 crore to Rs 1.27 lakh crore in 2014, while the rural development budget increased from Rs 80,000 crore to Rs 1.87 lakh crore.

Amit Shah said, “When Shri Modi ji became Prime Minister in 2014, the country’s agriculture budget was Rs 22 thousand crore, which has been increased to Rs 1 lakh 27 thousand crore. The rural development budget was earlier Rs 80 thousand crore, which the BJP government has increased to Rs 1 lakh 87 thousand crore.”
