Lucknow, 22 September (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter on Monday, wishing the countrymen happy Navratri and appealed to adopt Swadeshi. He said that by reducing GST slab from four to two (5 and 18 percent), everyday needs like food, medicines, soaps, toothpastes and insurance etc. will be either tax-free or will come in a minimum slab of 5 percent. The first 12 percent GST items have now come to almost 5 percent. This will give the benefit of cheap prices to consumers, which will increase their savings and strengthen the ability to spend.
PM Modi wrote a letter appealing to the countrymen to celebrate ‘GST Savings Festival’ in the festive season. He said, “This festive season has become more special with ‘GST Savings Festival’. This reform will benefit every class, farmers, women, youth, poor, middle class, traders and MSMEs, of the society. Reduced tax rates will reduce domestic expenses, so that people will be able to fulfill aspirations like housing, buying or holidays.” He informed that the GST journey started in 2017 realized the concept of ‘Ek Nation, Ek Tax’ and now they will make the improvement system more simplified.
He said, “Citizen Gods are our mantra. In the last 11 years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty due to our efforts. A new middle class has been prepared in the country. Now it is being strengthened. We have also strengthened the middle class. No tax is being charged on income up to Rs 12 lakhs. If you look at the income tax and new GST reforms, then there will Taking a pledge of developed India by 2047 and to prove it, it is necessary to follow the path of self -sufficiency.
PM Modi said, “It is necessary for self-sufficiency that we make Swadeshi a part of our life. Regardless of the brand, no matter the company, if the work of Indian workers and artisans is engaged in it, then it is indigenous. Whenever you buy the artisans, workers and industry items of your country, you help in the livelihood of many families and I help the youth of the country and I work for the youth of the country. I also appeal to the traders to sell indigenous goods, ‘It is indigenous.’ I wish that your home savings increase, your dreams should be fulfilled and you should increase the glow of festivals with things of your choice… “
PM Modi met traders in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. During this time he expressed happiness over GST reforms. Seeing the exhibition of local products such as tea, pickle, turmeric and handicrafts, he reiterated the message of promoting Swadeshi.
