Vadodara, June 29 (IANS). Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday invited Irish businessmen to explore investment and business opportunities in the state. He said that the proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement could open new avenues of economic cooperation between Gujarat and Ireland.
CM Bhupendra Patel gave this invitation in a meeting with Consul General of Ireland Patrick Duffy during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Central Gujarat in Vadodara.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister posted on social media platform
He wrote, “Pleased to meet Patrick Duffy, Consul General of Ireland during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference. A fruitful discussion was held on strengthening Gujarat-Ireland economic partnership. New opportunities are opening up through the India-EU FTA, so I invite Irish companies to invest in Gujarat.
The Chief Minister said that apart from trade and investment, both sides also discussed increasing cooperation in many areas.
“We want to move forward towards enhancing cooperation in technology, skill development and sports diplomacy, which will further strengthen Gujarat as a major global investment destination,” he said.
The meeting was part of several events organized under the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, which was attended by representatives from countries like Ireland, Japan, Ukraine and Rwanda.
This two-day conference has been organized with the aim of promoting industrial development, international partnerships and investment opportunities in Central Gujarat.
Earlier, the state government emphasized on Gujarat’s industrial policy, infrastructure and ease of doing business. Also new initiatives like Smart GIDC Estates were also launched.
The conclave has also organized a trade exhibition for MSMEs, startups, women entrepreneurs and tribal artisans, giving them an opportunity to connect with investors.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has been continuously emphasizing on enhancing global partnerships through the Vibrant Gujarat platform.
His meeting with the Consul General of Ireland reflects the state government’s efforts towards making Gujarat a global investment hub in the field of technology, innovation and skill development.
