Chandigarh, April 23 (IANS). Political turmoil has intensified regarding the municipal elections 2026 in Haryana. Bharatiya Janata Party has announced the candidates for the post of Chairman (Pradhan) for Rewari Municipal Council and Sampla and Dharuhera Municipalities. Along with this, the party has also announced the names of ward councilor candidates of Panchkula Municipal Corporation.
According to the list released by the party, Vineeta Peepal has been made the candidate from Rewari Municipal Council. Whereas Ajay Jangra from Dharuhera Municipality and Praveen Koch from Sampla Municipality have been declared candidates for the post of Chairman.
This announcement has been made by BJP Haryana State President Mohanlal Badoli. He finalized these names after discussions with the party’s national president Nitin Naveen.
Apart from this, the list of ward councilor candidates of Panchkula Municipal Corporation has also been released. Paramjit Kaur from Ward-1, Paramjit Kaur from Ward-2, Suresh Verma from Ward-3, Bharat Hiteshi from Ward-4, Jai Kaushik from Ward-5, Parth Gupta from Ward-6, Jyoti Prasad from Ward-7, Rajkumar Jain from Ward-8 and Harendra Malik from Ward-9 have been made candidates.
Similarly, Shekhar Pandey from Ward-10, Anuradha Puri from Ward-11, Rakesh Jagota from Ward-12, Deepak Garg from Ward-13, Rakesh Goyal from Ward-14, Priyanka from Ward-15, Nirmala Devi from Ward-16, Sudesh Birla from Ward-17, Pooja Devi from Ward-18, Manisha Rani from Ward-19 and Gautam Rana from Ward-20. The candidate has been declared.
At the same time, the list of ward councilor candidates of Ambala Municipal Corporation has also been released. The released list includes the names of candidates from a total of 20 wards including Vishal Rana from Ward-1, Varkha Sahota from Ward-2, Manish Anand from Ward-3, Varindra Nath from Ward-4, Rajesh Mehta from Ward-5, Archana Chhibber from Ward-6.
On the other hand, Haryana State Election Commission has also released the complete schedule of Municipal Elections 2026. According to the Commission, voting for various municipal corporations, councils and municipalities in the state will be held on May 10 while the counting of votes will be done on May 13.
The nomination process under the election program has started and its last date has been fixed as April 25. After this, nomination papers will be scrutinized on 27th April and candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 28th April.
