Himachal civic elections: CM Sukhu said - 'This is an opportunity to shape the future of the city', Rajeev Bindal cast his vote in Nahan.

Shimla, May 17 (IANS). Voting is going on for 51 urban local bodies including four municipal corporations in Himachal Pradesh. Appealing to the people, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that this civic election is a big opportunity to shape the future of your city, town and ward. Participate enthusiastically in this festival of democracy.

Voting started at 7 am in Himachal Pradesh. Around 3,60,859 eligible voters are voting to decide the electoral fate of 1,147 candidates in the civic polls. The four municipal corporations where voting is being held today include Solan, Mandi, Dharamshala and Palampur.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu posted on the social media platform

He further wrote, “Your vote will decide the direction of the basic facilities of your city. This vote will strengthen the pace of development at the local level and will take public service and honest politics forward. I humbly request you to give your blessings to the Congress candidates. Choose the public representatives who will stand with you in happiness and sorrow, so that they become the voice of your ward and city and bring development to every home. Let us together make the Congress candidates victorious and strengthen your city, city and ward. Form local government.”

At the same time, Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajiv Bindal along with his family members voted for Nahan Municipal Council elections in Ward No. 5 of Nahan. Appealing to the people, he said that all of you should also use your votes for the formation of Municipal Council in Nahan.
