Shimla, October 14 (IANS). A big controversy has arisen regarding the visit of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to England. Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has made a scathing attack on CM Sukhu, terming his claim of addressing the British Parliament as false. He said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has become the first Chief Minister of the country to be falsely certified by the British Parliament.

Actually, a few days ago Chief Minister Sukhu had gone to England. During this time, it was claimed in the state government and some media that CM Sukhu addressed the House of Lords of the British Parliament and he has become the first Chief Minister of the country to do so. But, now the truth of this claim has come to light.

Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said that his office contacted the House of Lords through email to ascertain the veracity of this claim. The reply received from there exposed the Sukhu government. The email clearly stated that no official address of any kind was made in the House of Lords by the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister.

Jairam Thakur said that after September 19, no meeting or proceedings of the House of Lords took place. In such a situation, the claim of the Chief Minister addressing the British Parliament on September 24 is completely fabricated and false. Thakur said that Chief Minister Sukhu has crossed all limits of lying.

He sarcastically said, “No one knows when the CM speaks the truth.” Thakur further said that lying and spreading rumors have become a habit of the Sukhu government and they are also resorting to lies to run the government.

He said that by making such misleading claims, the Chief Minister is not only bringing down his own dignity but also that of the state government. Using government machinery to propagate false claims is a serious matter.

Jairam Thakur demanded that the Chief Minister should apologize to the people and media of Sukhu State for this false claim. We will continue to bring the documents of every lie of theirs before the public. Lies have no legs and sooner or later the truth comes out.
