Evian (France), June 17 (IANS). US President Donald Trump on Wednesday supported opportunities for Indian skilled professionals in the US. He described Indians as ‘very talented’ and said that the two countries have long had good relations in the field of employment.
Trump made these statements in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G7 summit held in France.
When asked whether Indian skilled professionals would continue to get opportunities in America during his presidency, Trump replied in the affirmative. He said that we have always had very good relations with India in terms of employment.
He praised Indian professionals and said that they are very talented people.
These statements of Trump will pay special attention in India, because India is among the countries sending a large number of skilled workers, engineers, technology experts, researchers and students to America.
Trump said that the relations between America and India are very strong. We had a very good conversation with Prime Minister Modi and India. A lot of things are moving forward between America and India.
The US President also praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and negotiating ability. He said that he is a very strong talking leader. In fact, he is one of the best conversationalists.
Later, Trump said many positive things about the relations between the two countries. He said that India can do whatever it wants with us. We have the best relationship. He said that I do not think that there can be a closer relationship than this between me and Prime Minister Modi or between our two countries.
Prime Minister Modi said that cooperation between the two countries has increased significantly since his last visit to America. Last year we had a very successful meeting in Washington. Since then we have given new momentum and new energy to our relationship. Both countries are working together in many areas.
The Prime Minister said that officials of both the countries are also continuously working together to achieve the set targets. Our teams are also constantly communicating and collaborating with each other.
