Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday, commenting on allegations of massive voter fraud in Haryana, urged India’s Generation Z and youth to protect the country’s democratic process.
Rahul Gandhi stressed that youth have the power to restore democracy through truth and non-violence. He also claimed that a plan was hatched to convert Congress’s projected victory into defeat.
Addressing a press conference on ‘H Files’, Rahul Gandhi said, “I want the youth of India, Generation Z, to understand this clearly. Because this is about your future. Your future is being ruined. So it is important that you listen and see. I am raising questions on the Election Commission and the democratic process of India. So I am doing it with 100 per cent proof. We are absolutely sure that Congress’s massive victory (in Haryana) will A plan was hatched to result in defeat.”
The final slide of the presentation said, “India’s Generation Z and youth have the power to restore our democracy with truth and non-violence.”
The Congress leader described the alleged voter fraud in Haryana as a fundamental attack on India’s democracy.
He said that it was Mahatma Gandhi, B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and Subhash Chandra Bose and claimed that the country’s democratic ideals were under threat.
He said, “This is a fundamental attack on the democratic soul of India. This is an attack by the RSS on Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar ji, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose. Gandhi ji was murdered, his vision and his thought are being murdered. This is what is happening.”
Gandhi said it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to ensure the accuracy of the voter list, not of political parties.
Responding to questions on why no objections were raised during Bihar’s SIR process, he said political parties cannot correct flawed voter lists without access to the entire database, which the Election Commission does not provide.
He said, “The accuracy of the voter list is not the responsibility of any political party. If there is any discrepancy in the voter list, it is not my problem. The accuracy of the voter list has to be guaranteed by the Election Commission. The Election Commission tries to put the responsibility on the parties to solve the problems. We cannot solve the problems. If you want us to solve the problem, give us the entire database, we will solve it. But they do not do that.”
