Mahua Maji’s question on Bihar elections: ‘There was more voting than the public, investigation is necessary’, agreed to Owaisi’s statement

बिहार चुनाव पर महुआ माजी का सवाल:

Ranchi, 16 November (IANS). Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji commented on several issues on Sunday amid the political rhetoric that continued after NDA’s victory in Bihar elections. He not only raised questions on the election results, but also talked about the ongoing infighting in the Lalu family and the comments of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

On NDA’s victory in Bihar elections, Mahua Maji said that in elections sometimes someone wins, sometimes someone else wins, this cycle continues. However, he alleged that the ruling party also gets the benefit of having a double engine government. He said that before the elections, it is easy for those in power to give Rs 10,000 each in their account, give various gifts and make many promises. The opposition remains deprived of all these things.

The MP also raised questions on the counting of votes. He said that many things are coming to light. It is being said that there was more voting than the public. There is also doubt regarding counting. All this is a matter of investigation and if there is any dispute, the truth should come out after investigation.

On the ongoing feud in Lalu family and Rohini Acharya’s statement, Mahua Maji said that this is completely a family matter, hence it is not appropriate to make political comments. He said that there is a review after the defeat, people are sad, in such a situation sometimes a statement is made due to emotions. But, this does not mean that one should stick to it. With time things get better and shortcomings are understood. All this goes on in politics.

When a question was asked on JMM’s distance from the Grand Alliance in Bihar, Mahua Maji directly said that Hemant Soren’s stature is at the national level. He claimed that if Hemant Soren had been in the alliance and gone to Bihar to campaign, the result of the Grand Alliance would have been much better.

Mahua Maji expressed displeasure over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comment on the Congress party. He said that a person holding an important position like the Prime Minister of the country should not make such statements. This hurts people’s sentiments.

Mahua Maji agreed with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement that it is not the responsibility of Muslims alone to stop BJP. He said that it is the responsibility of all the opposition parties to strengthen democracy. Our country is moving towards monarchy, which is very dangerous. Centralization of power in one hand gives rise to dictatorship. In Jharkhand, CM Hemant Soren has played a strong role in this direction.
