**Allegations of police inaction**
In another video message sent to Bengal DGP Siddharth Nath Gupta, Mahua Moitra alleged that a crowd gathered outside a private office in her Lok Sabha seat during a party meeting and threw eggs and stones at her; She was injured when she reached the window. Mahua claimed that he had informed the DGP about the location over phone, but despite the arrival of the police, he failed to disperse the crowd and just kept watching the scene.
**Increasing attacks on TMC leaders**
It is noteworthy that in recent weeks many such incidents have happened with TMC leaders in West Bengal. According to reports, this series of incidents started with the attack on TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee. On May 30, when he was going to Sonarpur to meet families affected by the post-poll violence, eggs were thrown at him. In the video, the crowd was seen raising slogans and assaulting and pushing the TMC leader. Abhishek described the incident as an act of political violence and state-sponsored terrorism and thanked Rahul Gandhi for his support.
