Maithili Thakur will contest from Alinagar seat, BJP released second list of 12 candidates

Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded singer Maithili Thakur from Alinagar assembly seat, while former IPS officer Anand Mishra will contest from Buxar. The names of both are included in the second list of candidates released by BJP on Wednesday.

It is noteworthy that BJP has released its second list of 12 candidates for the upcoming elections.

As per the list, Ram Chandra Prasad will contest from Hayaghat seat, while Chhoti Kumari and Rakesh Ojha will contest from Chhapra and Shahpur respectively.

Birendra Kumar and Mahesh Paswan will contest from Rosra and Agiaon seats reserved for Scheduled Castes. Ranjan Kumar will contest from Muzaffarpur and Subhash Singh from Gopalganj seat.

It may be noted that after several days of speculations, singer Maithili Thakur finally joined BJP on Tuesday evening. Since then there was speculation that he might contest elections from Alinagar. As soon as the second list of BJP came out today, this speculation also proved to be true.

Maithili Thakur is famous for folk songs and bhajans. It will be worth seeing how his political career takes off starting with the Bihar Assembly elections.
