The Congress on Saturday claimed many disturbances in Bihar’s final voter list and alleged that the Election Commission is working as a “B team” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), completely “shameless” and the process of SIR is to give political advantage to the BJP and its friend parties.
Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also said that the commission should not look like a BJP puppet.
The Election Commission published the last voter list of Bihar on 30 September after the special intensive revision (SIR), according to which there are a total of 7.42 crore voters in the state.
Ramesh posted on ‘X’ citing a news, “The Election Commission has created the entire game of SIR at the behest of BJP. In the final SIR, the Election Commission’s claims of reform are also proving wrong. There are reports coming from all the areas of Bihar which confirm that the entire process is to give political benefit to the BJP and its friend parties. ”He alleged that after the SIR process, the final list also shows all the cases of disturbances in the final list that the Election Commission has no care about the clear orders of the Supreme Court and this commission, which is working as a” B team “of the BJP, has come down.
Ramesh questioned, “Will Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar answer how 247 voters were found in a house and one person’s name is three-three places at the same booth?” How are such big mistakes coming out in the final voter list? Or will he be silent as before? ”
He said, “The worrying thing is that the number of voters in some assembly constituencies is more than the margin of victory in the previous elections.” The Congress leader said, “We have said from the first day that the Election Commission of India belongs to the whole country and it should not look like the ruling party’s puppet.”
