On the incident of shooting death of a BJP member in Bihar’s Samastipur district on Wednesday, the opposition RJD has said that the common people in the state only trust God. However, BJP has termed it as an attempt to give it a political colour.
After the murder of the BJP leader, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) state spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, “Law and order in Bihar has completely broken down and the common people are forced to rely on God to live.”
On the other hand, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has completely rejected the opposition’s allegations and called it an attempt to give it a political colour.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister of the state Samrat Chaudhary had said on Wednesday that crime will not be tolerated at all. In his address at a public forum, the minister had said that his job is to “clean up garbage” and he is doing it. He had claimed that many criminals have fled Bihar and those who are left will be thrown out of the state within three months.
Just hours after Samrat’s statement, BJP leader Rupak Sahni was murdered, due to which the opposition is questioning the minister’s claim.
Tiwari sarcastically said, “When the government is not able to provide security to its own party leaders, then how can the security of the common people be guaranteed?”
RJD termed the incident as a symbol of the government’s failure and demanded accountability.
Meanwhile, BJP state spokesperson Priyaranjan Patel termed Sahni’s murder as unfortunate and said that the police took prompt action and arrested two accused. He clarified that there was no negligence in the police action and the law was taking its course.
BJP says that the opposition should wait for the completion of the investigation instead of doing politics on such incidents.
