Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that his ‘mourning’ for the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections a day before voting in Bihar means that he has realized the impending defeat of the opposition grand alliance in the Bihar Assembly elections.
A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader claimed amid the ongoing voting for the first phase of Bihar assembly elections that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will once again be formed in the state under the leadership of his counterpart Nitish Kumar.
Under the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections, voting is being held on Thursday for 121 seats in 18 districts out of total 243 seats in the state. Voting for 122 seats in the second phase will be held on November 11 while the results will come on November 14.
Speaking to PTI Video, Yadav said, “The public knows who is the face of development. The public also knows what the leadership of the NDA government and its constituent parties is like.
He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has formed the government for the third time in the country. So it is natural that NDA government will be formed once again in Bihar. Government will be formed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.
When asked about allegations of ‘vote theft’ in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that Congress always looks for excuses for defeat. He said, “There are elections in Bihar. Voting day has come. In such a situation, mourning Haryana means that you are showing your weakness. You have already got an idea of what the election results are going to be. That’s why you’re tearing your clothes.”
The Chief Minister said that Rahul Gandhi is trying to confuse the public by making such allegations and his words are not acceptable to anyone.
Yadav said, “Earlier also he (Rahul) created an atmosphere of confusion regarding the Election Commission and EVMs which was blown up in the Supreme Court. My advice is that Rahul Gandhi should take care of his dignity and avoid such things.
Rahul Gandhi claimed in a press conference on Wednesday that ‘elections were stolen’ through 25 lakh fake votes in the Haryana Assembly elections held last year. He also alleged that the Election Commission has colluded with the Bharatiya Janata Party to carry out ‘vote theft’. He said that fake names were included in the voter list of Haryana.
Yadav said that the people of Bihar have no faith in the grand alliance led by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), that is why it has been out of power in the state for 20 years. He said, “No matter what the people of Grand Alliance promise, the public will not trust them.” Public trust is with NDA. Just now 10 thousand rupees have been transferred to the women’s account. This means that we do what we say.
When asked about the incident of alleged digging of the helipad before his public meeting at Gandhi Maidan in Maner Assembly in Patna district, the Chief Minister said that such incidents happen during elections but it is the public who gives the answer. He said, “The public will use its franchise to calculate all these things.”
