Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released a video on Saturday and said his government has served the people of the state with complete honesty since 2005, transforming Bihar from a state where being called a Bihari was an insult to now it is an honour.
The JD(U) supremo said her government initially focused on improving law and order, which was earlier in a “very poor” state, and has brought significant improvements in education, health, roads, electricity, drinking water, agriculture and youth employment.
He said, “You gave me the opportunity to serve the people of Bihar continuously since the year 2005. We want to tell you that in the condition in which we got Bihar, it was an insult to be called a Bihari. From then till now, we have served you with full honesty and hard work, working day and night. You know that earlier the law and order situation was very bad. The first thing was done to fix it.”
Chief Minister Kumar said his government has worked for the development of all sections of the society – Hindu, Muslim, upper caste, backward, extremely backward, Dalit and Mahadalit – without doing anything for his family.
He said, “The previous government did nothing for women. We have now empowered women to such an extent that they are no longer dependent on anyone and can take care of their families and children on their own. We want to tell you that from the very beginning we have developed all sections of the society. Be it Hindu, Muslim, high and low, backward, extremely backward, Dalit, Mahadalit, work has been done for everyone. We have done nothing for our family. Now being called casteless is not an insult but a matter of respect.”
The Chief Minister of Bihar highlighted his government’s commitment to serve the public honestly since 2005, making Bihar a state that its residents can be proud of. He emphasized on improving law and order, education, health, infrastructure and employment for the youth.
Kumar said his administration has worked for the development of all communities, empowerment of women and meeting the needs of various social groups. He also appreciated the cooperation of the Central Government led by Prime Minister Modi in accelerating the development of Bihar.
He said in the video message, “The central government led by respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is also getting full support in the development of Bihar. Only NDA can develop Bihar. Due to the presence of NDA government both at the Center and in the state, the pace of development has become very fast. Therefore, I request you to make the NDA candidates win with huge votes in this election. You give us, i.e. NDA, one more chance.”
He further said, “After this, more work will be done, due to which Bihar will develop so much that it will be included in the top states. Therefore, on 6th and 11th November, all of you should reach your polling booth in large numbers and cast your vote. Jai Hind, Jai Bihar.”
Voting for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, while by-elections for eight seats in seven states and union territories will be held on November 11. The results of both will be declared on November 14.
