New Delhi, May 28 (IANS). Many prominent leaders paid tribute to the great revolutionary, freedom fighter and nationalist thinker Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth anniversary. Remembering the indomitable courage, patriotism and sacrifice of Savarkar, who endured the harsh tortures of Kalapani by the British, the leaders described his contribution as a source of inspiration for the coming generations.

In a post on social media platform

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote, “Respectful tribute to the great freedom fighter ‘Swatantryaveer’ Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the immortal son of Mother India, who laid down his life at the feet of the motherland after enduring the harshest inhuman tortures for the freedom of the nation. His revolutionary consciousness and life of struggle will always give us an invaluable message of dedication, courage and unwavering determination in the interest of the nation.”

UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote, “We pay our tribute to the immortal son of Mother India, the fierce nationalist thinker and the great revolutionary ‘Swatantryaveer’ Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth anniversary. Veer Savarkar struggled throughout his life for independence as well as for the awakening of cultural self-respect and national consciousness. His revolutionary ideology, vigorous writing and indomitable courage provided ideological energy to the freedom movement.”

He further wrote, “His struggle for independence, self-respect and patriotism from India to England is a source of inspiration for the coming generations. His sacrifice, tenacity and revolutionary thinking instilled patriotism and self-confidence among the youth. His dedicated life towards national interest and social reform will always inspire the countrymen.”

UP government minister AK Sharma wrote, “Hundreds of thousands of salutes to the freedom fighter, great revolutionary, thinker, writer, poet, dynamic speaker and visionary politician Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his birth anniversary.”

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari wrote, “On this birth anniversary of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the great revolutionary, writer, social reformer and freedom fighter who strongly supported the armed revolution, we pay our deepest respects to him.”

BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia wrote, “Tributes to the elite patriot and great freedom fighter Swatantraveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar ji, who dedicated his entire life in the service of Mother India, on his birth anniversary.
