New Delhi, February 1 (IANS). Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has called the Union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament a mere gimmick by the opposition. He said that the BJP government has not done anything in the last 11 years, so what will it do this time.
Congress MP Gurjit Singh Aujla while talking to news agency IANS said, “Look, we should hope for the best. We hope that the government would have thought about the employment of the unemployed youth and would have done some work for the welfare of the farmers. There are many states on which the debt has increased, we should think about it.”
He said that Punjab has the most hope. Punjab has a lot of debt. We hope that they would have made some provision for loan waiver of Punjab and apart from that, a lot of drugs and weapons are coming from the border through drones. Some arrangement must be being made to stop this also. It is very important to have modern weapons and technology for security in the budget.
Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi, while talking to news agency IANS, said that the BJP government has continuously broken all the expectations of India in the last eleven years. How can the budget strengthen the pocket of the common man, that should be the budget. But every year whenever the budget has come, it has loosened the pockets of the poor people of this country.
He said that the way they have conspired to ruin MNREGA just a few months before the budget comes, it has already broken the backs of the poor laborers of this country, so there is not much expectation from this budget. Let’s see what Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gives to the country. How much public problems are taken into consideration.
TMC MP Kirti Azad, while talking to news agency IANS, said that he has been sitting on hope for the last several years. Two crore jobs, fifteen lakh rupees every year in every account, bringing back black money, bullet train. Let’s see what is thrown again today, what phrase comes up. The BJP government has not fulfilled the promises made earlier also, so there cannot be any hope this time also.
