Opposition should not do politics on changing the name of MNREGA: RP Singh

मनरेगा के नाम बदलने पर विपक्ष को राजनीति नहीं करनी चाहिए: आरपी सिंह

New Delhi, December 16 (IANS). BJP spokesperson RP Singh has hit back at the statement of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in which she said on changing the name of MNREGA, that by bringing a bill to cancel the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Act-MNREGA, the BJP government wants to snatch the legal guarantee of employment from crores of laborers of the country. The bill he has brought is against crores of laborers, gram sabhas and gram panchayats of the country. It should be withdrawn immediately.

Responding to Priyanka, RP Singh said that the opposition should not do politics on this matter.

Speaking to IANS, the BJP spokesperson said that the opposition does not understand that this is a new scheme and what is the problem with it. Earlier it was 100 days, now the scheme is for 125 days. The poor will be provided with more employment. He said that the opposition has to do politics, but no one talks about the welfare of the people.

He said that changing the name of MNREGA to Ji Ram Ji is not a big deal. Changing the name is not a big deal, the big thing is that employment guarantee of 125 days has been given instead of 100.

On Delhi Court rejecting ED’s charge sheet in National Herald case, RP Singh said that the court has not rejected the case, the case will continue. This is a big thing, the ED charge sheet will be revised, the case is under the auspices of the court, the case will proceed as the court wants. He said that whatever decision comes, we will welcome it.

Regarding the SIR draft in Bengal, BJP spokesperson said that the draft has come, there is a chance for revision in it. BLAs can give revision according to their respective areas, after which the final list will be released. He said that this draft shows that infiltrators had prepared the votes here, that is why the votes have been deducted.

On the statement of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on vote theft, BJP spokesperson said that when Rahul Gandhi took out Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, raised the issue of vote theft, and nothing was seen on the ground, then Tejashwi Yadav started taking out a separate yatra. Everyone knows the results. They also know what Abdullah is saying that he won the elections on the basis of voter lust. The opposition has always had only one issue that if they win, everything is fine with the Election Commission and EVMs, and if they lose, they start chanting the slogan of vote theft.
