New Delhi, October 15 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Virendra Sachdeva has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to allow burning of green crackers on Diwali in Delhi.
Describing it as an achievement of the Sanatan loving government of Delhi, he said that this decision is the result of correct voting of the people of Delhi.
Virendra Sachdeva accused the previous Arvind Kejriwal government of adopting an anti-Hindu attitude and deliberately presenting wrong data, which led to the ban on firecrackers on Diwali by the Supreme Court for the last few years.
Virendra Sachdeva said that BJP has been claiming from the beginning that firecrackers burnt on one night of Diwali are not the main reason for winter pollution in Delhi. Many other major factors are responsible for pollution, such as industrial emissions, vehicle exhaust and stubble burning. However, the previous Kejriwal government deliberately blamed firecrackers as the main culprit of pollution and presented figures that impressed the Supreme Court. For this reason, there has been a ban on firecrackers on Diwali in Delhi for the last few years.
He said, “The previous government in Delhi, especially Arvind Kejriwal and his associate Gopal Rai, have been the epitome of left politics. Their policies were anti-Hindu and they deliberately presented false data, thereby affecting the tradition of firecrackers on Diwali, the biggest festival of Sanatanis.”
Virendra Sachdeva stressed that this year the Sanatan Premi government in Delhi presented the real situation before the Supreme Court and obtained permission for the use of green firecrackers. I congratulate the people of Delhi. It is a symbol of respect for Sanatani culture and traditions.
He described the use of green crackers as a step towards balancing environmental responsibility and cultural traditions. He appealed to Delhiites to use only green firecrackers and follow the Supreme Court guidelines, so that there is minimal damage to the environment.
He said the decision not only protects cultural pride but also ensures that scientific and logical measures are adopted to control pollution in Delhi. I urge the Center and Delhi Government to make such policies in future also, which maintain a balance between cultural traditions and environmental protection.
