Siddharthnagar, March 14 (IANS). Bharatiya Janata Party MP Jagdambika Pal has accused opposition leader Rahul Gandhi of spreading confusion and panic in the country. He said that despite being the leader of the opposition, Rahul Gandhi is raising such issues in the Parliament and among the public, which is creating unnecessary panic among the people, whereas the government has made it clear that there is no shortage of petroleum products in the country.
He said that because of the Congress Party, hoarding and black marketing of domestic gas cylinders is being encouraged.
While talking to news agency IANS, Jagdambika Pal said that Rahul Gandhi raised the question of gas shortage in the Parliament, while Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has assured the people of the country through the House that the supply of oil, petrol and gas is completely normal and there is no shortage of any kind.
He alleged that despite this, the Congress MPs are not allowing the proceedings of the House to run smoothly and are protesting at the gate of the Parliament House, thereby creating an unnecessary political atmosphere.
The BJP MP said that this attitude of the opposition is an attempt to create panic among the people of the country. Iran has allowed the passage of only crude oil ships destined for India through the Strait of Hormuz and two such ships have already reached Indian ports in the last two days. According to him, in this situation there is no need to worry about the supply of petroleum products and there will be no shortage of oil, petrol or gas in the country in future also.
He said that due to the statements and protests of the opposition parties, the trend of hoarding and black marketing may be encouraged at some places, which is a completely irresponsible attitude. Accusing Congress, he said that this party is trying to spoil the atmosphere for political gains instead of public interest.
Taking aim at Rahul Gandhi, he said that he should behave as per the responsibility of the Leader of Opposition. Pal alleged that whenever Parliament proceedings take place, Rahul Gandhi is often not present in the House. Such an attitude shows irresponsibility towards the biggest democratic forum of the country and affects the democratic process.
