Mumbai, January 21 (IANS). Amrita Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, hit back at Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut’s picnic statement, saying that a picnic is not one in which work is done morning and evening. Picnic is something that happens with family, and our family is doing its work in Maharashtra itself.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is currently in Davos, Switzerland, where he is participating in the World Economic Forum 2026. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut taunted that the Chief Ministers of the country are having a picnic in Davos.
On Sanjay Raut’s statement, Amrita Fadnavis, wife of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, said that I do not know everything, but like everyone else, I have also seen his schedule. He has continuous conferences and meetings from 6 am to 11 pm. Complete information about with whom the meeting is taking place is documented. The way investment is coming in and MOUs are being signed, the promises of employment are being made – all this is commendable. It is very important for a country like India that the Chief Minister of every state attends the world’s biggest conference – Davos and meets the people there. Networking opens many doors, so it is very important to go there.
Amrita Fadnavis, who reached an event, said that I am very happy that today I got the opportunity to participate in this beautiful program organized for the Postal Department at GPO, Mumbai. Keeping in mind the protection of the environment and giving priority to the convenience of the employees, 100 e-bikes have been unveiled. This will greatly benefit the employees. Now these e-bikes will be driven by the employees themselves. I am very happy with the launch of such an initiative.
On the participation of women in the postal department and the benefits of e-bike, he said that first of all let me tell you about the GPO of Mumbai. Literally 50 percent of the workforce here is women and their numbers are equal to men. It is great to see such good participation of women in this job. Earlier, employees used to travel by bicycle or two-wheeler, which also involved petrol expenses. Now with the advent of e-bikes, the environment has become friendly, expenses have also reduced and a lot of time of employees is also being saved.
