The excitement regarding the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections is increasing. There is political turmoil in NDA before the election date. Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) President Upendra Kushwaha has created a stir. He is unhappy with the seat distribution in NDA. He is refusing to be persuaded by BJP leaders. Now he has set a condition to talk directly to Amit Shah. Now the question is why is Upendra Kushwaha so worried? What is his wish? Why has he suddenly reached Delhi from Patna to meet Amit Shah? Which seat is the cause of controversy? Chirag Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha are now face to face on this seat.
Actually, the main contest of Upendra Kushwaha is with Chirag Paswan’s party. There is a dispute between Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) regarding Mahua assembly seat. In NDA’s seat distribution, Mahua seat has been given to Chirag Paswan, but Upendra Kushwaha is not accepting it. This is the reason why both Chirag Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha are staking their claim on this seat. This has increased the problems of BJP. BJP wants reconciliation between the two. Therefore, continuous efforts are being made to convince Upendra Kushwaha. On Tuesday night, Nityanand Rai and Samrat Chaudhary themselves met Kushwaha, but the meeting remained inconclusive.
Efforts to persuade Kushwaha
Upendra Kushwaha on Tuesday stopped his candidate from filing nomination. Following this, several BJP leaders including Samrat Chaudhary and Nityanand Rai reached Kushwaha’s house at midnight. The meeting at his Patna residence continued till 5 am. However, the midnight meeting between BJP leaders and Kushwaha remained inconclusive. Kushwaha had clearly said that he will not leave Mahua seat. Sources say that Kushwaha wants his son to contest elections from Mahua seat. He also said that nothing is decided until he talks to Amit Shah. He also said that everything is not well in NDA. Subsequently, Kushwaha, along with Nityanand Rai, reached Delhi today, where he will meet Amit Shah this afternoon.
Chirag has also received orders
Sources claim that due to Upendra Kushwaha’s displeasure, Chirag Paswan has been asked to postpone his nomination from Mahua seat. This is the reason why Chirag Paswan has not yet announced his candidate from this seat. Mahua seat has now become a question of prestige for him. Chirag Paswan had also obtained this seat after a lot of bargaining. In the NDA seat distribution, Chirag Paswan’s LJP (R) got a total of 29 seats including Mahua. It is being told that Kushwaha is angry with his six seats. His anger has increased further due to not getting Mahua seat. This is the reason why BJP kept trying all night to convince Upendra Kushwaha.
Why is Mahua seat important?
Now the question is why is Mahua seat so important? Mahua seat falls in Vaishali district. This is a high-profile assembly constituency. Yadav, Muslim and Kushwaha communities dominate this seat. In a way, Mahua assembly seat is Yadav and Muslim dominated. Statistics show that the Yadav and Muslim population in Mahua assembly seat is about 35 percent. Muslims and Yadavs have been considered the core voters of RJD and Lalu family. At the same time, the Scheduled Caste population in this seat is about 21 percent, in which Paswan and Ravidas play a decisive role. The Kushwaha population here is also quite significant. This is the reason why both Chirag Paswan and Kushwaha are claiming for this seat. In 2015, Tej Pratap Yadav had won the election from here.
