Speaking to IANS, BJP MP Anurag Thakur said, “Asha Bhosle, a very versatile and great singer, is no more. It is a huge loss for our film and music industry. She sang more than 12,000 songs in more than 14 languages, which is a record in itself. She sang not for one generation, but for at least three generations. From 1947 to 2022.” The song itself says a lot that she was not only associated with music but also had the opportunity to meet her very closely, which is a very sad news.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said, “Asha Tai, who was the greatest doer of music and the queen of tunes, who made her invaluable contribution not only to Indian music but also to the global music world over the years, is physically no more with us today. This is a big loss for music lovers. Her memories and contribution, her melodious voice, will always be remembered not only by India but by the world. She will keep everyone engaged with her music. Speaking to reporters, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi said, “Today we have lost a personality whose melodious tunes and voice were a source of inspiration for everyone, who spread enthusiasm, energy and positivity far and wide. Asha Bhosle is no longer with us today, and it is a very painful loss.”
Maharashtra government minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said, “Asha Bhosle may no longer be with us, but she will remain immortal through her songs. She lived her life like a lioness. Her last rites will be performed at Shivaji Park on Monday evening.”
