'Preparations are underway to eliminate us', MLA Abdul Sattar's serious allegation on BJP

Mumbai, June 3 (IANS). There has been a stir in Maharashtra politics due to a statement by Shiv Sena MLA Abdul Sattar. He has made serious allegations against BJP and claimed that efforts are being made to destroy Shiv Sena.

Speaking to IANS in Mumbai, the Shiv Sena MLA claimed that lower level workers of the BJP are trying to weaken the Shiv Sena in the district. He has called it a slow poison, which is hollowing the alliance from within.

Abdul Sattar said that the reason for resentment is that even though BJP is our alliance partner today and the Chief Minister is also from BJP, some of its workers at the district level are trying to weaken Shiv Sena. Instead of working together, they are sidelining Shiv Sena and consolidating power for themselves. We need to consider this, because we are their coalition partners, not their opponents. What is going on should be discussed in front of our party workers.

He said that despite BJP being the Chief Minister, his party workers in the district are trying to harm Shiv Sena. Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad, Municipality and other local bodies were earlier dominated by Shiv Sena, where BJP has established its hold. After coming to power, that power should be used properly and not misused. It is wrong if the big party in the alliance tries to destroy Shiv Sena. They should respect our party.

Referring to BJP, he said that I had not felt like this earlier, in the first two and a half years I could not even understand it properly. When we were in power and Eknath Shinde was the Chief Minister, there was no question of understanding these things. But over the past 18 months, I’ve realized it clearly. The attitude and way of working that I have been witnessing for the last 18 months is not right. An order has come to withdraw the nomination forms for the elections, which will be considered.

Abdul Sattar has appealed to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde to take the matter seriously and provide justice to Shiv Sena. He said that this issue should be discussed openly so that the strength of the alliance remains. Our leader had expressed his views in just a few words. It gives a very important message about what will and will not happen, and how things should be understood. This is more than just two words, it represents a much bigger thing. Because, when Eknath Shinde takes any decision, there will be a storm.

Abdul Sattar has claimed that Eknath Shinde will once again become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Maybe after two and a half years. He said in whose hands is the remote of Matoshree? He is Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray. And in whose hands is the remote of our party? He is Eknath Shinde. As far as the future of both is concerned, nothing can be said about it today. Had anyone said yesterday that Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray can come together.
