New Delhi, June 3 (IANS). Taking an important step towards further strengthening the traditional friendship and cooperation between India and Nepal, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi met President of Nepal’s Rashtriya Swatantra Party (Rashtriya Swatantra Party) Rabi Lamichhane. During this, both sides discussed various aspects of shared prosperity, development and regional cooperation.

In the post, the Prime Minister said, “It was a pleasure to meet Rabi Lamichhane. I fully support the desire to build a shared and prosperous future together. Nepal is an important and primary partner for India under its “Neighborhood First Policy.”
PM Modi expressed confidence that with the new government of Nepal, the special and multi-dimensional relations between the two countries can be taken to new heights. He emphasized on strengthening the historical, cultural, religious and economic relations between the two countries which have been strong for a long time.
Cooperation between India and Nepal is not limited to the political level but extends to many areas such as trade, energy, connectivity, education, tourism and people-to-people contacts.
Closer cooperation with Nepal under India’s “Neighbors First” policy can further broaden and strengthen bilateral relations in the times to come.
On Tuesday, Lamichhane met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Naveen, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Home Minister Amit Shah. Lamichhane had termed these meetings on X-Post as very important and useful.
In the meeting, topics like Nepal-India relations, mutual interests, democratic practices, security cooperation and dialogue and cooperation between the political parties of the two countries were discussed. Lamichhane and his team will return home on June 5.
