Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the absence of women journalists at the press conference of Afghanistan Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki and asked him to clarify his stand on the issue. The Congress leader also said that this is an insult to women journalists.
Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister is on a tour of India these days. He held talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday, later he also addressed a separate press conference.
Priyanka Gandhi posted on ‘X’, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, please clarify your stand on keeping women journalists away from the press conference of the Taliban representative who is visiting India.”
Priyanka Gandhi said, “If your acceptance of women’s rights is not just a show between elections, then how was this insult accepted in our country which considers its women as its backbone and pride?”
