Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday demanded the Uttar Pradesh government to publish the work done so far on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and ensure that ‘life-threatening pressure’ is not put on Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Yadav, in a post on ‘X’, demanded that the data of all the SIR work done in the state should be published.
He said, “The deadly pressure on the BLO should be removed and additional authorized people should be deployed for this work as per the time limit.” Yadav said that it should be ensured that the parties in power and their cronies are not involved in this work through the back door now and will never be in the future.
The SP chief demanded, “There should be a thorough investigation into how many people of the PDA community are being conspired to be removed from the voter list in every assembly. This should be prevented from happening at any cost.”
